Canada – Jingdezhen Wood Firing Program
Presented by Hei Pottery
Hei Pottery proudly presents the Canada–Jingdezhen Wood Firing Program, connecting ceramic artists in Canada with the long-standing wood-firing tradition of Jingdezhen, China.
Through this program, artists, studios, and collectors across Canada can send their work to Jingdezhen for traditional wood firing—one of the most historically significant ceramic centers in the world.
This program creates a bridge between Canadian creators and experienced craftsmen in Jingdezhen, allowing participants to experience the unique beauty of wood firing, including natural ash deposits, flame markings, and organic surface textures that cannot be replicated by electric or gas kilns.
